There are now less than six months to go before the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Magenta Security’s managing director believes the security success will be based on effective partnerships.
Abbey Petkar, managing director, Magenta Security Services: “The Olympics is one of the biggest security tests the UK has ever been faced with. Thousands of athletes and millions of visitors will descend on London, and other venues around the country. Security has been one of the major considerations for organisers as keeping athletes and spectators safe is a top priority. Partnerships will be central to the successful delivery of the security plan. The organisers, Government and a host of policing, safety and security agencies have already shown they are working together with the aim of achieving a safe and secure event, and we look forward to playing our own part.”
Magenta believes that despite the cost of security at the Olympics doubling, it is a necessary step to ensure each venue has the highest levels of security.
Abbey continues: “Working in partnership is vital to the success of any security project, no matter how big or small as they allow different groups to exchange ideas and share expertise. At Magenta Security we pride ourselves on working in partnership with all our clients. It’s an approach which allows us to learn their individual requirements so we can provide a tailor made security package which suits their needs.
“I believe we’ll all learn from the security partnerships developed through the Olympic Games. It will be yet another legacy of a successful event as the experience and knowledge gained will undoubtedly filter down through the whole industry over time.”
