In our last blog post, we looked at a few of the reasons why we were nominated for the prestigious ‘Guarding Company of the Year 2013’ award at the Security Excellence Awards. In this entry, we’ll revisit the topic and discuss even more reasons why Magenta has become so highly thought of in the security industry.
Let’s start by summing up our last article – we invest in training and our employees, we are committed to investing in the ‘Investors in People’ accreditation’ to improve our business performance and we have an enviable client list across a wide range of industries to who we offer bespoke services to. But what else is there? What else gives us that real star quality?
Well, for one, we lead the industry as the first manned guarding company in Europe to achieve ISO 14001. Through continual improvement of our environmental practices we are considered the leader in the industry’s drive to be environmentally friendly. In fact, much of our new business success can be attributed to our environmental credentials. Our achievements include 50% reduction in energy costs and moving to a paperless office. Our most recent investment is the addition of electric cars to our fleet.
None of this would be possible without vision and direction. Our Managing Director, Abbey Petkar has committed himself to becoming a voice of the industry, offering advice to other companies as well as helping them with the implementation of environmental policies. Further than that, he has been an outspoken proponent of regulation in the security industry against ‘cowboy’ companies (http://ow.ly/ssBvw). This has recently come into practice as the SIA will now require all security businesses to hold a license in order to operate (See our October 2013 entry for more information or the SIA website http://ow.ly/ssCMu)
Over the last 2 blog posts, we have demonstrated why Magenta is considered an industry leader and we are very honoured to have been nominated in such a prestigious category alongside other luminaries of the industry.
