In this blog post, we’re going to be looking at who Magenta are. It may sound as though we’re blowing our own trumpet a little but sometimes, it’s important to remember who we are and where we came from and why we’re here today. These blog posts look at Magenta Security, the SME from Hounslow, founded in 1995 and operating at the forefront of the security industry.
Magenta Security provides high quality, bespoke security services to clients within the retail, healthcare and commercial sectors throughout the UK and Northern Europe. It is one of the fastest growing private security firms in the UK and is ranked amongst the top 5% of private security companies by SIA-ACS. With its head office in Hounslow it also has operations in Swindon, Kent, Birmingham and Manchester. We have been operating for 18 years and in the last year Magenta has achieved considerable success– 61% increase in profitability, and is one of the fastest growing guarding companies in the country. We have also been recognised as one of the leading lights in the security industry, having been nominated and winning a number of prestigious awards at the annual SEA awards over the last few years.
We offer a great deal more than just our professional security service. We are a community minded organisation and recognise that everything we do, even on the smallest level, has repercussions globally – that’s why we tirelessly commit ourselves to green operations. The company was the first manned guarding company in Europe to be awarded certification to ISO 14001:2004 as well as being the first and currently only security company to become carbon neutral.
Outside of our green initiatives, Magenta ‘thinks local’. We play an active role in the local community by sponsoring cricket and football teams and have worked with the Metropolitan Police on projects educating local school children on safety issues – from knife crime and drugs to road and fire safety. On an international front we also wanted to establish better CSR activities through
We have worked tirelessly to improve the image of the industry, by setting standards that others follow, and this was recognised by Abbey Petkar’s inclusion in the IFSEC top 40 most influential people in the security and fire industry. For years we have looked to the SIA to introduce licensing for security companies to help regulate the market and cut down on ‘cowboy companies’ (http://ow.ly/swyVy) that have ripped off clients and provided poor service, damaging the reputation of our industry in the process. It is a mark of how in touch we are with our industry that the SIA recently introduced these measures and we at Magenta welcome the regulation with open arms.
So that’s us. Cut away the accolades, the high-profile clients, the initiatives and programmes and underneath it all, we are still the SME from Hounslow that puts the client and the community at its centre.
